Fireworks on Lake Union

Masaoki Kawasumi, MD, PhD will be appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine/Dermatology, effective July 1, 2016. A 1,000-square-foot lab space on the 3rd floor of the Brotman Building will be available for the Kawasumi Lab.

Masaoki presented a poster at the 2016 Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Masaoki met with Drs. Robin Harris, Clara Curiel, and Georg Wondrak, and gave a talk [Cancer Prevention and Control Seminar at University of Arizona Cancer Center (Tucson, AZ)].

Masaoki gave a talk at the University of Washington (Oral Health Sciences Seminar).

Daiki Rokunohe, MD, PhD (a dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon at Hirosaki University) joined our research team as a postdoctoral fellow.

Betsy Williams, Dermatology Division Administrator, retired after 29 years of service at the University of Washington.

Masaoki attended the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) 2015 in Seattle, Washington and served as a poster judge for the undergraduate poster competition.

Masaoki gave a talk at the University of Washington (Pathology Presents Seminar).

Masaoki and Takeshi joined the Annual Dermatology Retreat at the Center for Urban Horticulture and presented posters.

Dr. Nghiem's Laboratory hosted the 2015 Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC) Dinner Meeting for patients and families. Over 220 patients, family members, clinicians, scientists, and trainees gathered. Masaoki and Takeshi attended the Meeting.
